A survey conducted by the Armenian Statistical Service and U.N. Population Fund shows that 7,500 people leave Armenia yearly.
The Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reports that labor migrants constitute a major part of emigrants. Over the past two decades people have mostly emigrated to Russia, the other CIS member-countries and United States.
Emigration affects reproduction of the country`s population.
Some of the labor migrants that leave Armenia are unlikely to return. They will also take their families from the country. All this means larger-scale migration is possible.
